Hey guys! i hope that this made you smile! I got it e-mailed to me from a friend today. It kinda got me thinking however. Is there a difference in a sincere smile when you are genuinely happy and a smile that you just put on your face to mask your true feelings? I work with people all day and i always have a smile on my face because even if i'm having a bad day why should it affect them... but it worries me at the same time. What if someone was upset and needed someone to talk to but we didn't know because they just put on a happy face? just thinking... not really sure where i wanted this to go... but that's the joy of blogging! it doesn't have to go anywhere! i can sit down anywhere anytime and write what ever i feel or whatever's on my mind. It's kinda' nice... like therapy or something. have a good one!

If someone is just putting on a smile, its usually easy to see if it is a false one. Becasue a smile is just one small part of body language; there are many others. So if someone has a false smile on then the rest of the way they are acting will enlighten us to their true mood and intentions.

There are days, like today, when I hear about something really bad that happened with a student of mine and I feel so shitty-how didn't I see that? How didn't I know that? Why didn't I say something? Then I realize I can't read minds-and neither can you or anyone else. All I can do, even if it totally sucks, is the best I can-the demands on most of our lives are such that we just don't have the time to really connect with most of the people we come into contact with. Ironic, isn't it, that in an age of more and more ways of comunicating with people(cell, e-mail, blackberry, etc.) we have less time to do so...
